A10. Low’s places each order the same day as your purchase is made, even if your wedding date is a year or more away, this gives our brides the quickest ship date possible. Rush shipping is available from most designers for an extra charge.

Q11. Am I allowed to take pictures?
A11. Yes, you can take pictures.

<<Back to Questions

Q12. Can I complete my entire bridal look (gown, veil, headpiece and shoes) in one appointment?
A12. The Better Business Bureau recommends that you order your gown and accessories at the same time. This helps you know how your complete ensemble will look. Ordering your gown , veil, headpiece, undergarments and shoes at the same time insures that your entire ensemble is ready for alterations and portraits. We realize a brides time is precious. You may order your veil and headpiece after your gown arrives, but remember veils and headpieces arrive about one and a half to two months after ordering.

<<Back to Questions

Q13. Can I buy a gown to take home with me?
A13. Low’s carries thousands of gowns in stock in sizes 2-32, we realize many brides want to buy a gown and take it home. We wish it were possible but we do not have every gown in every size.

<<Back to Questions

Q14. How do bridal gowns run in size?
A14. Most designers start at a 2-4 and go to a 28 or 32. Bridal gowns are cut
different than normal clothing. Most brides order or buy a gown 1 to 2 sizes
larger than they usually wear.

<<Back to Questions

Q15. How do you determine what size I will wear?
A15. When you order a gown, Low’s staff will take your measurements over just your bra and underwear. This insures snug body measurements. (Measurements should never be taken over clothing. When you go to the offices you will compare your measurements to the designer’s size chart.) Each designer has his own size chart. Low’s will make a size recommendation, but the bride is allowed to order any size she chooses. If your measurements fall between sizes it is best to order for the larger measurements. Gowns can be taken up but may not have extra fabric to be let out. Gowns are not cut to your measurements so expect alterations, which are an additional charge to make your gown fit you perfectly.

<<Back to Questions

Q16. Where does the designer ship my gown when it is ready?
A16. Special order gowns are shipped to Low’s. The designer will not ship directly to the bride. Once the gown arrives at Low’s we will carefully inspect the gown. The bride will be called immediately upon arrival of the gown. You may make an appointment to pick up your gown and other accessories or Low’s can ship them to you. All packages are shipped ground UPS unless you request and pay for a two day or overnight shipping. There is a small charge for shipping and insurance. All gowns and accessories are insured. All gowns are shipped with a signature required. This assures the bride that no gown is dropped on a doorstep. Your consultant will confirm your address before shipping.

Q17. Do I have to pay sales tax if I am from out of state?

<<Back to Questions

Q18. How can I have the best experience Low’s has to offer?
A18. The best days to come to Low’s are weekdays, especially Wednesday and Thursday, (except for during the semi annual sales). Weekdays are more relaxed which means you will have a longer time to shop and more mirror space.

<<Back to Questions

Q19. When are your big sales?
A19. Low’s has sales twice a year. The sales are just after Christmas and again in
mid July. Each sale offers thousands of gowns in sizes 4-32. These gowns
are sold off the rack and cannot be ordered. Low’s sale offers new gowns at
half price and some gowns at even greater savings. Our sales are held in the southwest second floor wing of our building. This area of the building is confined to ladies only because there are no dressing rooms. We provide strapless bras and a slip.

<<Back to Questions

Q20. Do you accept returns?
A20. All sales are final. This final sales policy is consistent with the industry
standard for bridal and special occasion apparel.

<<Back to Questions

Q21. What are the price ranges of the gowns you sell?
A21. Wedding gowns range from under $500.00 up to $7,000.00. Bridesmaids gowns range from under $100.00 up to $400.00.

<<Back to Questions

Q22. When and how do we pay for bridesmaids dresses?
A22. Bridesmaids dresses are to be paid in full when ordering, this can be done with credit card or check.

<<Back to Questions

Q23. How long should I allow for bridesmaids gowns to arrive after ordering?
A23. Bridesmaids gowns take 10 to 14 weeks to arrive after ordering. Rush is available from most designers for an additional charge. Low’s has a nice selection of bridesmaids gowns available on a two week ship at no additional charge, in select colors.

<<Back to Questions

Q24. How can I make sure my bridesmaids gowns are the best fit possible?
A24. Make sure your bridesmaids get measured properly. If in question measure twice. The most common mistake is that bridesmaids measure too far down for their waist measurement. The waist is measured at the smallest part of the torso, above the belly button. Not where you wear your jeans Also your bust measurement is not your bra size. Follow the size chart provided on the back side of your bridesmaids sheet. Every bridesmaids gown designer has its own size chart, and the sizes can vary greatly. You could wear a 6 by one designer and a 10 by another designer. Do not guess at your size. You can always have a gown taken up but you may not have enough fabric to let a gown out. The bridesmaids gowns are not cut to your measurements. You are ordering the closest size to your measurements.

<<Back to Questions

Q25. If I order the wrong size bridesmaids gowns will the designer exchange sizes with me?
A25. It is the policy of the bridal industry that there are no exchange and all sales are final. Bridesmaids gowns are cut just for your order the gowns are not kept in stock. When Low’s places your order for your bridesmaids gowns, the gowns are cut from the same dye lot of fabric and in the sizes you requested. Remember Low’s staff is not allowed to choose your sizes.

<<Back to Questions

Q26. What if someone in my party has a baby or child?
A26. We ask that you bring NO babies or children under the age of twelve, but if you must bring any babies or children they will have to remain in the lobby with a member of your party. They will not be allowed to go back to the dressing rooms, hallway or any other part of the store.
